Now this is getting ridiculously dangerous. Yet another secret trade agreement: TISA (Trade in Services Agreement) ! Wikileaks got a copy of an annex written in May. The content is horrible: preparing to crush state control in favour of financial institutions. From the few words heard on France Info this morning, it may impact France's famous and quite efficient social protection model, giving private companies a free hand. From the things I know, the insurance company AXA is regularly pushing the government to unbuild the public Sécurité Sociale, getting control over health expenses for all citizens. Now with that annex, we have solid proof that something is indeed preparing in the shadows. To make things worse: it's stating a 5-year-after-adoption secrecy !! They really plan a forceful passing until it's too late and "too advanced" to cancel it in courts !

Ah bah forcément. Un parmi d'autres services utiles aux gros téléchargeurs (ceux avec une file d'attente énorme mais ne pouvant pas rester devant l'écran pour résoudre les captchas quand ils se présentent).

Le principe: vous créez un compte, vous engrangez des crédits en résolvant les captchas des autres utilisateurs, et vous pouvez utiliser vos crédits dans vos logiciels de téléchargement via une API: vos crédits sont consommés quand un autre utilisateur résout un captcha à votre place.

The good news is that some pressure will ease the other registrars to price down. Yet this is extremely dangerous, may Google "up-index" websites having their domain name at Google.

Nice work from Synology, they're quite reactive for security fixes (the Heartbleed issue went fixed in a handful days). And so they were quick to fix the bug used by the hacker to gain root access and make Synology NAS servers mine Dogecoins.

Yet there is one "small" problem: updates must be applied manually, the NAS can at most automatically download the patch and warn the user. But if people only use like Samba shares (Windows shared folders), they never connect to the web interface and so never get notified an update waits for installation ! An update that requires only a click on a button and an automated 5 minute install + reboot !

Sysadmins can't trust the mainstream user to update the computer. I saw Windows 7 systems running for years without the user even knowing Windows Update was disabled (!!). Unattended updates is the GOLDEN RULE. Synology must find a way to patch the NAS servers automatically, without user input, every time it's possible without reboot. And let the user decide a timespan where the server may reboot itself, for kernel fixes.

Les spéculations vont bon train sur ce qui se passe avec le site de TrueCrypt. À ce stade, vu le délai depuis l'apparition de ce message et vu que TrueCrypt 4.2 ne permet que de déchiffrer, il me semble très improbable que les devs de TrueCrypt ne sont pas au courant. Ils auraient déjà restauré le site.

La page actuelle est en HTML 4.01 transitionnel, charset ISO-8859-1. Avec du CSS intégré aux balises ( "span style=blablabla"). Pas pu trouver de copie du site avant (le site a été exclu de WayBackMachine), ceci dit le site précédent était "old style" et je ne pense pas que les devs se seraient emmerdés à coder cette page en HTML 5 et feuille CSS dédiée: copier-coller les headers de l'existant est plus rapide ou se servir d'un WYSIWYG.

Conseiller Bitlocker ? TC avait beau être compilé avec un vieux compilateur sous Windows, ça c'est de l'immense bullshit en barres. On peut juste pas faire confiance à un logiciel propriétaire auquel, même s'il était sécurisé aujourd'hui, Microsoft pourrait péter la sécurité d'un simple update obligatoire. Conseiller un produit d'une entreprise très liée à la NSA... on y verrait presque un message.

C'est terriblement louche tout ça, et les commentaires sur WOT vont bon train. Les devs ont été découverts par les autorités et il y a des pressions pour leur faire insérer des backdoors, ce à quoi les devs préfèrent saborder le projet plutôt que mettre en danger les utilisateurs ? En tout cas il ne faut surtout pas paniquer et faire des conneries. Par prudence on peut passer à un autre format, par exemple des conteneurs LUKS (ce que j'utilise déjà), avec tcplay via interface zuluCrypt.
